MVSP is a 3 ½ hour seminar tailored for schools and the community built on proven learning concepts used in such courses as the highly successful Infrastructure Liaison Officer (ILO), TRAPP (Terrorism Recognition, Awareness and Prevention Partnership) and a variety of both public and private sector training over the last fifteen years.
The Learning Objectives cover key knowledge areas such as:
Unique Characteristics of a School or Educational Environment
Awareness and Understanding of Potential Threats of Mass Violence
Recognition of Pre-Incident Indicators and Early Warning Signs
Responsible Reporting of Suspicious Activity
Actions to Take When a Potential Threat is Recognized
The MVSP seminar provides critical knowledge and assessment skills necessary in the school environment aimed at early identification and timely reporting of suspicious activity to enhance effective intervention or mitigation of potential violent threats. These threats are often called “active shooters", but they are actually violent “mass killers.”
