Growing through Mentorship

Women in Homeland Security – Southern California has created a dynamic platform for professionals in our industry to build relationships and grow in their expertise. We foster a collaborative environment that offers opportunities to learn the discipline, share best practices and network with our diverse members.

We are now planning to embark on a new program to enrich your WHS membership experience and support career development – the WHS Mentor Program. The program will offer a new way to engage and support new practitioners and college students, as well as provide continuing education for seasoned professionals.

In order to assess the needs and interest in the WHS Mentor Program, please fill out the survey below. You can sign up to be a mentee or mentor or both, regardless of how long you have worked in the field. The more detailed your response, the better our matching process will be.

At a minimum, we are asking for the following commitments –
Participation in the program for at least six (6) months
Meeting with your mentee in person at least once every two months – in addition to phone/email/Skype at the mentor/mentee pair’s discretion
